Too cute not to reblog. And I hardly ever reblog!

It’s a talent of the students of Soka to make me sick of it without even being there. If everyone and their brother weren’t constantly posting the same aerial pic on Facebook I might actually have time to miss it.

Hahahha woooooooord.

Day #…..FAIL

Haha I totally failed on keeping this updated for the meals I’ve been making. There are a couple reasons though:

1) I’ve been making a lot of repeat meals, thus fewer new pics to show

2) Been eating out here and there as well

3) I’ve had quite a few failed meals (in that I burned some things…)

4) I’m lazy as fuhh and enjoying my time off

So yeah, but tomorrow marks my last day off before I move back into Soka, so here’s one last update of my challenge!

Seasoned tilapia with some bomb-ass sake:

Glutinous rice-balls (sesame and peanut):

Failed Chicken Adobo (I only had breast fillets to work with so they cooked too quickly and basically burnt :( next time thighs!)

Potstickers (with homemade dipping sauce)

Salmon baked in tomatoes with corn on the cob

Grilled cheese with tomato and cucumber

English muffin pizzas

So this wraps up my cooking challenge. I hope you guys have enjoyed my food pics. I hope my cooking itch doesn’t leave once I move back into Soka (and become kitchenless) but I shall be returning here most weekends. The cooking has only just begun! And during my time here I’ve acquired two more cookbooks. Yay!

Days 13-17

I went out a lot this weekend haha but here’s a bunch of stuff I’ve made in the past few days:

Tostadas:

Whole wheat shell pasta with ground beef (I highly recommend switching to whole wheat pasta. It tastes pretty much the same!)

Ramen with turkey Spam, bok choy, and egg

Tofu stir-fry (again)

Marinated salmon portions from Costco with brown rice (so good and easy to make!)

So I don’t know how this week is looking as far as cooking foods. I think we’re going to be eating out more because it’s a busy week and we’ve got gift cards to use up. But I’ll still be cooking a little here and there :)

Days 11 and 12

Quesadillas (w/spinach and mushrooms)

Fried chicken with rosemary potatoes

January 17, 2012 12:08 am

Days 9 and 10

Marinated chicken drumsticks

Apples with cinnamon

Whole wheat penne pasta with meatballs (looks nasty sorry the pic sucks)

Chicken curry

I’ve got an ass ton of chicken but I don’t know what more I can do with it. Hahaha.

Days 6-8

Day 6:

Marinated Steak and mushrooms

Day 7 I went out to dland so I could cook anything :( ate unhealthy park food instead haha

Day 8:

Lunch: Lemon chicken soup with homemade guacamole

Dinner: Baked tilapia with spinach, broccoli, and corn

Good food mang.

January 12, 2012 1:01 am

Day 4 and 5

Whole-wheat spaghetti with sausage

Tofu stir-fry

Bowtie pasta with veggies

It’s been kind of fun looking up recipes and trying out new things (like marinating and handling tofu haha) but I’m glad I have the option to play around. Today I went with Andrew to this mexican grocery store called Cardenas that we found because they sent the boys a catalog in the mail with this week’s deals. Crazy! We got a pound of fish for only $2 and a pound of tomatoes for less than a buck. And Special K there was 2 boxes for $4. Although it’s not located in the best area, I think I’ll make it a new regular stop of mine haha.

Day 3

Breakfast: Omelette w/spinach, mushrooms, sausage, and cheese

Lunch: White cheddar mac n cheese with corn

Dinner: Marinated chicken drumsticks (little bit of soy sauce, BBQ, ponzu, lemon juice, peppers, and worchestershire)

AND I AM SO PISSED BECAUSE I DID NOT TAKE A PICTURE!! But it came out beautifully.
